Community Facilities
Our goal at University Village is to promote personal growth and academic success. In order to stimulate social education and community living we provide support through our Resident Advisor Program andrecreational amenities for our residents to enjoy.
Resident Advisor Program - Our Resident Advisor (RA) program offers our students access the student leaders who are available after office hours for key check out, maintenance concerns, academic support and assisstance with the transition to the college atmosphere. We have two resident advisors scheduled for on-call assistance from 5p.m. to 8a.m. with office hours from 8p.m. to 5p.m. These hours complement the administrative office hours of 9a.m. to 5p.m.to by providing round the clock support to our valued residents. When the office is closed, our resident advisors can be contacted for assistance by calling the RA cell phone. During office hours, a resident can come in for immediate help with maintenance emergencies, lock out assistance, package pick-up and academic concerns or relax in our resort style lobby and socialize. Here the students will have access to our office supplies including a fax, a copy machine and a computer printer to support academic excelence. Our RAs plan social activities such as Dodge Ball, Bingo, UV Idol and movie nights throughout the year to promote social interaction in a safe and fun environment.
Community Center - Our community center includes a lounge room with a big screen television and comforable furniture where we provide cable for the students' enjoyment. This is the room where many of our RA run activites occur such as karaoke and UV Idol where we utilize the stage to showcase the talents of our residents. Our community center is a great place for our residents to use the tables for study groups with WIFI internet access or meet with friends to play board games. Entertainment for our students includes foozball, pool, ping pong and air hockey. Game equipment can be checked out in the office by our administrative staff or by calling the RA cell phone or visiting the RA office hours. Treadmills, stair machines, and bicycles with two multi function weight machines as well as our sparkling swimming pool comprise our Fitness Center amenities. All areas of the community center are open from 8a.m. to 11p.m. and can be booked for private parties or community University Village events for our students.
Dining Hall - Centrally located on our campus and overlooking the swimming pool is the Greenwich Cafe dining hall. Here, students relax in a pleasant atmosphere while dining on meals prepared fresh daily. Our friendly staff welcomes each student and serves them healthy choices from an ever changing menu. Daily options include a salad bar, soda and juice fountains, ice cream station, a variety of prepared salads, soups and hot meals. By providing fresh food every day, we are able to prepare meals with consideration to dietary variations such as vegetarianism, allergies and religious practices. Relieving students of most of their cooking responsibilities leaves ample time for studying, as well as socialization. Monthly and holiday specials introduce even greater menu variety from chocolate Valentine fountains to Thanksgiving Turkey Dinner.
Pool - Our beautiful enclosed pool are is surrounded by chaise lounges with a picnic area and a barbeque. Students gather here in warm weather to cook and sunbathe. with barbeque and chaise lounges. Open 8a.m. to 11p.m.
Quad - Our large grass area with rolling hills is the location for friendly games of catch or frisbee and nice shady gathering areas. This is the location of many of our RA run activities such as dodge ball and flag football as well as our welcome week activites which have included a BBQ and tahitian dancers.
Laundry Rooms - There are two 24 hours access, web card operated laundry facilities located in the Rome and Paris buildings at University Village. Vending machines for the late night snack and study tables allow for ample room to study for finals and meet with friends.
